September 3, 2015

This week Cathy Masters and I traveled to Austin, Texas and attended the ASUG SAP Business One Summit, along with Greg Robinson and Kevin Smith of Enprise America.

This annual ASUG event is a great opportunity to catch up with Enprise’s North American reseller partners along with their customers and prospects.

This year, Cathy and Kevin demonstrated the latest versions of Enprise Job and Enprise Anywhere to our partners and their prospects.

During one of the breakout sessions, Ron Mondor of Zantek IT and Moty Moshin of coresystems demonstrated a fully integrated mobile job costing solution, comprising coresuite time, Enprise Job and SAP Business One.

Enprise adds North American presence

August 19, 2015

PilotSolutions1

Enprise Software has recently partnered with USA-based Pilot Solutions to be “Enprise North America”, offering local sales, technical and implementation support to North American Enprise channel partners.

The United States and Canada are very important, strategic markets for Enprise. Our new North American office offers local support in North American time zones. It gives our network of American and Canadian partners access to specialist resources that extend their own teams when dealing with Enprise add-ons. These include pre-sales engagements, marketing and lead development as well as implementation and consulting services.

In addition to our new local presence, we have some great new products, like “Enprise Anywhere” and “Enprise Job for SAP HANA” which we think will drive more sales for the North American channel.

Greg Robinson and Kevin Smith of Pilot Solutions (pictured above in Miami, Florida) have been friends of mine and the Enprise team for many years. They have an exceptionally good level of knowledge and experience around Enprise products and the SAP Business One channel.

I’m extremely glad to have Greg, Kevin and the Pilot team working in North America, as part of the Enprise team.

“Enprise Anywhere” hits North America

Cathy Masters demonstrates Enprise Anywhere top an SAP Business One partner

Enprise Software’s newest product, “Enprise Anywhere” has been well received by the North American SAP Business One channel, with several large orders received within days of the product’s release.

Enprise Anywhere is a mobile extension of our popular “Enprise Job” solution and allows mobile workers to look up and update job information from out in the field, using a tablet or smart phone.

Last week, Enprise Software GM Cathy Masters and I met with our North American partners at the SAP Business One Innovation Summit in Miami. Everyone there was upbeat about the many exciting new product innovations from SAP and from solution partners like Enprise.

Of particular interest was SAP’s demonstration of the new HTML5 version of SAP Business One, which looks just like the Windows version, has similar capabilities and runs in a web browser. This will be an ideal companion to Enprise Anywhere, where the emphasis of the Business One suite is moving towards the browser.

Enprise Job & SAP B1 for DCAA compliance

April 14, 2014

DCAA Compliance

Contractors that supply goods and services to the United States Department of Defense must adhere to regulations governing the way they configure and operate their accounting systems. The DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) is the government agency that audits and assesses their compliance with these regulations based on the type of contract they have with the government.

A contractor is said to be “DCAA Compliant” when their accounting systems and processes comply with the regulations set out in the web site www.dcaa.mil

The following capabilities of SAP Business One and Enprise Job provide an ideal and powerful platform for configuring a DCAA compliant accounting and project costing solution;

  • Proper segregation of direct costs from indirect costs
  • The ability to identify and accumulate direct costs by contract
  • A logical and consistent method for the allocation of indirect costs to intermediate and final cost objectives
  • Accumulation of costs under general ledger control
  • A timekeeping system that identifies employee’s labor by intermediate or final cost objectives
  • A labor distribution system that charges direct and indirect labor to the appropriate cost objectives
  • Interim determination of costs charged to a contract through routine posting to books of account.
  • Exclusion from costs charged to Government contracts of amounts that are not allowable pursuant to FAR Part 31, Contract Cost Principles and Procedures, or other contract provisions
  • Identification of costs by contract line item and units (as if each unit or lines was a separate contract) if required by the proposed contract
  • Segregation of pre-production costs from production costs

Grayling Chooses AccountAbility Cloud Job Management and Accounting Solution

November 22, 2013

Accountability

Grayling, the world’s second largest independent PR consultancy, presently uses AccountAbility in ten countries and plans to roll it out to a further 18 countries over the next 12 months. Prior to using AccountAbility, the Grayling group of companies used several disparate systems that were not able to meet their needs.

AccountAbility delivers the functionality that Grayling requires as a global agency. The fully integrated solution facilitates the management of global business structures and includes an outstanding multi-currency capability. Eliminating the need for different systems, AccountAbility allows the company to consolidate information and report across their entire network with full reporting capabilities including job, production time, resourcing, financials and in particular profitability. The all important revenue tracker, has for the first time, given the Global CFO the ability to track global client revenues in real-time, giving him a single source of the truth.

Grayling selected AccountAbility on its strength as a vertical solution, built specifically for the marketing communications sector, as well as it being Cloud technology that meets the complex needs of a modern agency. The ease and speed of implementation was a key factor, as was the total cost of ownership. The solution offers full functionality with an intuitive interface, allowing ease of use to any level of user across the business.

I am very excited about Enprise’s investment in Accountability, as it is now a globally-proven, high-growth solution with first-mover advantage in its huge vertical market. Enprise will be working closely with Accountability in the coming years in order to help achieve the significant potential of this innovative solution.

Enprise Job now in French!

May 1, 2013

Maybe it’s because I was born in Montreal but grew up in New Zealand without learning to speak French, that makes me so excited to see Enprise Job and Enprise Rent fully translated to the French language. I may not be able to speak French myself, but at least my software can!

Our French Canadian partners have long been asking for French translations of our very popular Enprise Job and Enprise Rent solutions for SAP Business One – and we are very pleased to deliver this for them in version 8.81.201, available for general release later this month.

Enprise is serious about providing business solutions to the French language countries and regions. As for me, I intend to brush up on my own French language skills. Nous pouvons le faire!

SAP Business One, UK & Nordic Partner Day

April 22, 2013

Enprise product manager, James Brading and I arrived in London over the weekend in order to attend the UK & Nordics SAP Business One Partner Day on Tuesday 23rd April. Over the next few days we hope to meet with most of our resellers in this region.

Our main message to the partners here is that Enprise is now better equipped in the following ways to help them grow sales;

  • We have a new Technical Account Manager, Corban Slabbert who is based in the local time zone and is the first point of contact for our SAP Business One partners based in the UK, Nordics, Africa and Continental Europe. In addition to managing our partner relationships, Corban has product and technical expertise, so is well equipped to assist partners with sales and product related issues. This is in addition to Enprise’s web-based support and support tracking systems.
  • Since we last visited the UK, we now have a new product offering in the form of Enprise Rent, which extends the functionality of Enprise Job to give it functionality for businesses which have a project rental focus.
  • We have recently produced translations of our Enprise Job and Enprise Rent products to the French language. We also have a German partner producing a German translation. Further future translations are now being considered.

We are excited about the sales potential for Enprise SAP Business One solutions in the UK and Nordic region, given the strong market here for well proven software like ours that caters for service related industries. In the past, our partners and customers here have loved our products, but found that our lack of a local contact and time zone support limited our mutual success. This has now been addressed by the addition of Corban to our team, who is based in South Africa, specifically to be of service to this region.

Enprise goes to Bratislava

April 8, 2013

Next week James Brading, Lita Teng and I will travel from New Zealand to Bratislava, to attend the SAP Business One Tech-Summit. This is a global event where we will learn directly from SAP about their latest technologies, including HANA – SAP’s new High Performance Analytical Appliance.

HANA is of particular significance to Enprise, because we are presently developing the capability for all of our products to run on HANA. Similarly, SAP is also releasing all of its software to run on HANA – including SAP Business One.

HANA gives SAP Business One and solutions such as Enprise Job a lot more processing power and analytic capability, enabling the solutions to be suitable for larger customers with larger volumes of data and more sophisticated data analysis requirements.

Following the Tech-Summit, James and I will continue up to London for the SAP Business One UK & Nordics Partner Day.

We look forward to meeting many of ours and SAP’s reseller partners from around the world at both of these events.

Enprise opens in South Africa

March 29, 2013

This week I was delighted to welcome Corban Slabbert back to Enprise as our South African based Technical Account Manager for the EMEA region.

Corban was one of our original team members, when we launched the Enprise business back in late 2002. She has extensive technical, accounting, ERP & business experience. Having her back in the Enprise team is a major gain for Enprise, our partners and our customers.

Corban Slabbert

Corban is based in Pretoria East, S.A. and will offer sales and product support to Enprise’s partners in Africa, the UK, Ireland and Continental Europe, for the full range of Enprise solutions for SAP Business One.

Having Corban now based in South Africa is demonstration of Enprise’s commitment to our partners and customers in Africa, the UK, Ireland and Continental Europe. We will now be able to give more immediate support and assistance for Enprise products to our partners in this region.

Corban is presently spending time with the Enprise Software team in Auckland, before heading back to South Africa to start her new role in mid April.

SAP Business One ASUG Summit at Nike WHQ, Beaverton Oregon.

August 15, 2010

Last week I visited Nike’s World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon to attend the ASUG Business One Summit. This was probably one of the most positive and inspiring business events I’ve ever attended.

ASUG stands for “America’s SAP User Group” and it’s a group of SAP customers from throughout North America who network together to share their experiences and knowledge in order to get the most out of their SAP systems.

Nike is a leading member of ASUG and they very kindly donated the use of their impressive conference facilities for ASUG to hold this event. The Nike World Headquarters were as impressive as they were inspiring; this is what your business can do when it conquers the world! The Nike culture rules in this establishment; ties and cigarettes are forbidden from the campus – everyone’s an athlete in the Nike world.

From the SAP Business One perspective, this was a meeting of customers, resellers, solution partners and SAP. All are dedicated, committed and loyal to the Business One product, which is now used by over 30,000 small & medium sized businesses throughout the world.

In addition to the North American SAP Partners and customers, there were attendees from other countries around the world, including Denmark, Latin America, India, Switzerland, The Netherlands and New Zealand.

Among the Business One Solution Partners, was Enprise Software from New Zealand, demonstrating Enprise Job Costing for Business One. This is a successful solution, sold around the world, which enables Business One to be used by Service Companies, Project Based Companies and Make-to-Order manufacturers.

This year’s very successful ASUG Business One Summit would never have happened without the tireless commitment and dedication of Carl Lewis of Vision-33, who largely created and organised the event.

I look forward to next year’s ASUG Conference, which Carl tells me might either be at Coca Cola’s headquarters in Atlanta, or SAP’s American headquarters in Newtown Square, Philadelphia.

To match the quality of this year’s event will certainly be a “Nike Challenge”.
